3 Nights of Kayak Camping at Round Valley

Pack it all in your boat and paddle out to the campsite.

Open to paid JSSKA MEMBERS. Signed 2023 JSSKA waiver required.

Friday a.m. to Monday afternoon — 3 nights of camping, 2 1/2 days of paddling.

There is room for 6 people/site (12 total each night)* The cost is $10/per person/per night. RSVP “Going” on Facebook IN THE DISCUSSION *with which nights you want (a spot can have paddler A for 1 night and paddler B for the next two nights). We will invoice you by email. You can pay online. Friday, the first of us will put in at the in-park boat launch* at 10 a.m., paddle to the site and set up camp. Others can arrive later.

Saturday and Sunday, day paddlers can paddle out to join us, then we can paddle around and/or hang out.

Monday, we will pack up in the a.m., paddle back, unload, then either paddle more or debrief and head home.

The campsite is in a secluded clearing in the woods and contains a fire ring with a grill, and picnic table.  Food is BYO. You can bring stoves and firewood can be collected from the sties. Drinking water is not always available so you should bring water for both paddling and cooking. The restrooms are outhouses and showers are not available.

I have confirmed that you do NOT need a current fishing license, hunting license, trapping license or boat launch maintenance permit – because we have paid to camp. We will parking/launch* from this area within the park https://goo.gl/maps/15GVrApTet98wUGj9, which is only for registered campers boating to their campsite. Also, you do NOT need to pay admission to the park. After passing the entrance hut, make the first right to get to the parking/launch area.

There are only 2 cars/site (4 total cars) are permitted. Extras are $5/car/night, paid upon entry.

Alcohol is prohibited.

You can hail us on VHF channel 69.

Of course, you may get your own campsite.
